BLUE ANGELS • DOTHAN AL • NATIONAL PEANUT FESTIVAL:

Locals are accustomed to hearing the roar of jet engines and seeing the team of distinctive blue and gold F/A-18 Hornets flying in tight formations over the city and water. At the Pensacola NAS Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show, the Blue Angels get to wrap up their performance season on their home turf and we get to thank them for another stellar season. Today we join over 150,000 fans and community members to honor these amazing Navy pilots. After the show we travel to Dothan, Alabama for an evening at the National Peanut Festival, the largest peanut festival in the country, held annually to celebrate the harvest season and honor local peanut farmers. The festival features a variety of events, including amusement rides, animal attractions, agricultural displays, concerts, livestock shows, and fair food favorites.
Day 5

JIMMY CARTER NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK • NATIONAL INFANTRY MUSEUM • DINNER:

As we begin our travel home, we stop in the small Georgia town of Plains, home to our 39th US President. The Jimmy Carter National Historical Park is a tribute to the legacy and history of President Carter. This small, rural community holds special significance as his hometown, and the park encompasses Plains High School, where Carter attended and graduated, the campaign headquarters used during his 1976 presidential campaign, and the boyhood home and farm where Jimmy Carter spent his formative years. The National Infantry Museum emphasizes the values that define the Infantryman and preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world. We have another included dinner tonight before we check into our hotel. (D)
